MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR REGION THIS SUMMER
OBC is in partnership with specific individuals and organizations that are making a difference in our region. Our congregation is involved through tangible gifts and volunteer hours and we have become an army of ordinary
people making a big difference! Here are a few ways that you can get involved this summer:
 | | MORE THAN ENOUGH FOOD DRIVE
Jack and Yvonne McEwan are members of OBC and regularly serve at the Food Bank. Jack says this about the impact that the food bank has on our region, "We've been impressed by two things. When you see people coming in and out of the food bank, you can see that they have real needs. They are not just numbers to us. Also, Dianne and the other volunteers really care about the people. We consider it a privilege to be serving God and others in this way." During the month of July OBC collected food for our regional food banks. There continues to be needs this summer, so continue to support the regional food banks by dontations of non-perishable food items or by volunteering to serve in the food banks.

 | | THE DOOR YOUTH CENTRE
Jonathan Smith, one of our partner missionaries, is currently the Manager of The Door Youth Center. The Door needs volunteers each Saturday night throughout the summer for their youth drop-in centre. All you need to do is provide a listening ear and words of encouragement to kids that are looking for a place to hang out. The Door has a large open area with a place for drinks and snacks, pool tables, as well as television and video games. It's an easy environment in which to express your faith. You can volunteer once or many times throughout the summer. Call Jonathan Smith at 519.938.8031 for more details. |

SINGLE MOMS’ MOVING & PAINTING TEAMS
About once a month we receive a call from Family Transition Place with a request to assist a single mom with a move. We are looking for individuals willing to be contacted when these moving needs arise. Since many new residences are in dire need of painting, we’d also like a list of people who could be available to paint prior to a move. Please contact Nancy Harper through the office if you are interested in joining either of these teams. |
